"How much does a camper cost?" has no single answer, because in a bespoke build every decision changes the result. Here are the key factors in order, so you know what you are choosing and why when you request a quote.
1. The vehicle
The make, model, wheelbase and roof height set the starting point and what is possible inside. If you already own a van, the project is planned around it.
2. Layout and number of people
How many people sleep on board, a fixed or convertible bed, the seating area and kitchen size directly affect the amount of furniture and work.
3. Insulation
Four-season use needs more thorough insulation. It takes more work upfront but improves comfort and prevents condensation, extending the vehicle's life.
4. Electrical and solar system
Battery type (gel or lithium) and capacity, solar power, inverter and charging systems determine how long you can stay off-grid. High-consumption devices such as air conditioning need a stronger system.
5. Water and heating
Fresh and grey water tank capacity, hot water and the heating system (for example a diesel heater) widen the scope of the project.
6. Bathroom
A bathroom with shower and toilet is one of the most involved parts of a build in terms of plumbing, ventilation and space planning.
7. Furniture and materials
Panel and surface materials, worktop type, lighting and finishing details define both the look and durability.
8. Equipment and official procedures
The brand and model of air conditioning, awning, fridge and hob, plus engineering approval and registration, are also part of the overall scope.
